Tomorrow is May 21

It’s certainly getting a lot of attention: radio discussions,  “Sunrise’ TV, NY Times, Yahoo news. Something must be happening tomorrow. Will it be the rapture? If you’ve read my previous comments, you’ll know I doubt it. But before all the guffawing and know-all scoffing gets going on May 22, let’s consider what the Bible itself says:

“This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11)

“For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thess.4:16; from perhaps the first book of the NT to be written)

“Now concerning the times and seasons, brothers and  sisters, you do not need to have anything written to you, for you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. When they say,  ‘There is peace and security’, then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no escape” (1 Thess.5:1-3).

In other words, Jesus will come again and this will usher in judgement from which no one will escape.

Just because he doesn’t come tomorrow doesn’t mean he won’t ever come again. he’s giving us time to get right with God. Don’t take that lightly. Read 2 Peter 3:3-13.

Father of 5 and husband to Judy, Jon is a pillar in the Australian Pentecostal Church Culture. His measured approach and excellence in research shows a passion for intelligent, reasoned Christianity.

His first book, Revelation Reclaimed, aims to dismantle the miseducation that is often associated with the Biblical book of Revelation. It reveals that which Jon is most keen to do, and that is to inform and educate the Christian community on how to read their most sacred text.
